At the 61st annual BMI Country Awards, held at BMI's Nashville offices in the heart of Music Row, "Springsteen", co-written by ole songwriter Ryan Tyndell, was honored as one of the past year's most-performed country songs on U.S. radio and television.
It is the latest chapter in the remarkable story of "Springsteen", Eric Church's #1 platinum single and GRAMMY-nominated song. At SESAC's annual Nashville Music Awards presentations, held this year at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum on November 3, ole legacy writer Monty Powell picked up a Country Performance Activity Award for the Keith Urban hit song "For You". The song, which was co-written with Urban for the soundtrack of the popular film Act of Valor, the Navy SEAL action thriller, and was included on Urban's album, The Story So Far, was nominated at the 70th Golden Globe Awards for Best Original Song.
At the 51st annual ASCAP Country Music Awards, held on November 4 in the Grand Ballroom of the newly-opened Music City Center in downtown Nashville, Roots Three/ole songwriter Jeff Coplan earned an award for co-writing Love and Theft's #1 hit, "Angel Eyes", one of country music's most performed songs of the period between April 2012 and March 2013.
