ole Announces Co-Venture With L.A.'S Five K Entertainment Group

LOS ANGELES: Music publisher ole, is pleased to announce the signing of a co-venture agreement with Victor Murgatroyd, former Vice-President of A&R j records.

The Los Angeles-based Murgatroyd has launched Five K Entertainment Group where he will find and develop artists under a new agreement with j records and will co-develop the publishing arm with ole, which is headquartered in Toronto with offices in Los Angeles and Nashville.

Prior to his Vice-President position at j records, Murgatroyd also served in A&R capacities at Epic Records and Windup Records. Murgatroyd has an extensive musical background as both an artist and an executive, having worked with such diverse artists as Evanescence, Incubus, Seether, Finger Eleven, Drowning Pool and Buckcherry; and as a musician with The Cult, The Four Horsemen and many others.

Most recently at j records, Murgatroyd and President of A&R RMG Peter Edge delivered a joint venture between j records and Nickelback front man Chad Kroeger and producer Joey Moi to form Mountainview Recordings. As well as signing emerging artists I Nine, Inward Eye and Krista all to be released on j records in 2008, Murgatroyd will also be an A&R consultant to j where he will independently co-A&R all of the above-named artists.
